- Definition - Decision-making is the process in which, among multiple possible solutions to a problem, we choose the best one.
- Explanation - At some point, a problem occurs that we need to react to. First, we analyze the problem to see its components and then we search for possible solutions to the problem - what could eliminate the problem. Once we have identified all possible solutions, we analyze them and choose the best one for us. This entire process from identifying the problem to selecting a solution is called decision-making.
- Example - We are late for class because our car broke down. We can fix the car. We can switch to public transportation. We can arrange with a friend who lives nearby to go to class with them. We can ask someone to sign us in on the attendance sheet and not attend lectures. Among the four options mentioned, we decide to repair the car.
